Just received a request for passport photos meeting the new guidelines and a photocopy of my passport information page!

It doesn't specify how many photos I need to provide. I made 2 back on August 15th. Is that sufficient? Or is it 4?

There is a good post that says in detail how it worked for them (and me) - check out post no 13881 on page 926 of this thread and give that a go!
What's frustrating is that it locks you out after 5 attempts...

The problem with this is that it is easy when you are getting frustrated to not realize you've had more than the 5 attempts or whatever is allowed in the 24 hours (?) timeframe.

Authorized Reps sometimes have this trouble as well working out the exact combination of information that's required to link a person's application or information to their portal.

CIC will contact you if a new exam is required. They have the option to extend the medical results when submitted.

CIC can extend the medical. You don't request it.

I would inform CIC that your medical is expiring and ask for their advice rather than for an extension.

This site's wiki FAQ is an excellent resource here's the section re. expiring medicals....

My medicals are going to expire. Should I contact CIC?

It doesn't hurt. When your medicals are about 4 weeks away from expiring, drop CIC an email and just flag it up. One of four things will probably happen:

1) You will not get a response. Don't sweat it.
2) CIC will ask you to get a new medical done.
3) CIC will choose to extend your medical validity. They'll usually let you know how long they've extended the results for.
4) If your application is nearing completion, CIC will ask if you can land by x date, and extend the medicals in line with that date.

Another update please!
Am shocked it was so fast, but received notification yesterday that my sponsorship was approved, and the application has been sent to Ottawa!

Now the real wait!
Thanks

Spreadsheet updated. Congratulations indeed. As it has gone to Ottawa, not sure what you mean by 'real wait' - try London if want to see what a 'real wait' is
