Sorry I've not been around, but quick update:

10th July - email from London requesting I send in my RCMP check (was FedEx delivered 14th June) after telling them they definitely had it somewhere in their office my ECAS updated to decision made on 20th July, so just waiting now!

What a journey!

They use the computer to assess situations but there is a delay from receipt of documents to update of the computer. (It was worse in the entirely manual system used years ago.) You are getting to the end at last.

We received husband's application for permanent residence on February 8, 2012.

We started processing husband's application on July 13, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on Husbands's application. The office will contact Husband's concerning this decision.

It's done a whole month before I thought they would even start looking at it!!! Sooo excited!!!

Oh man You have me in butterflies your application was approved a day after mine so im thinking mine cant be that far off how did they notify you a decision had been made? when i log in to check my application its still just decion made for the sponsor approval should i be looking at something else or logging in with the person being sponsored rather than the sponsor?

Hey! No it will say the same thing on both the sponsor log in and the sponsored person's ecas log in. I just logged into my ecas one day and it said decision made under my husban'd PR application! Then the decision comes in a letter so hoping we get that this week!

Fingers crossed yours is coming!

The instructions say something along the lines of "provide statutory declarations from friends and family; at least 2 must be notarised". There seems to be a bit of mix on the forum whether or not people had theirs notarised - we did for ours. If you're in the UK, you can get a solicitor to do it for about £5-10 (ours cost £10 each - I can PM you the info of the lady who did ours).

If you're able to do it I would generally recommend doing it; however, as I said, there's a lot of disparity on the forum about how people handled this. Personally we did 10 declarations, mix of friends, and family, and two were notarised, as per the instructions.

HTH!

We have been very lucky as the spousal route has taken 3.5 months for us from complete file arriving in Canada to receipt of COPR. London was so fast that they responded they received husband's file but were missing the Quebec selection certificate before Quebec processed it! Quebec only took 2 weeks. I am very impressed with the process. now have 5 months to sort life and land!

Ours was a Passport Request (or visa-exempt equivalent!) - it was sent to my husband (the sponsored person)'s email address. It requested some photos (because, you know, they haven't requested photos at all through this whole process!), and a photocopy of his entire passport, and he had to fill out a form - that was about it. That was mailed last week; I think we get back the actual COPR that we land with in December in the next month or so.

Others have received PPR by post; hard to say which you'll get, given everyone seems to have different methods!

I have noticed some have just been sent COPR directly though after decision made.
I made sure to include every page of my passport with the most recent docs I sent, so hopefully they will use this and just send me COPR

No emails yet..
