I hope not!! Hope you get positive news soon :-) I don't think they are in any rush for my category either though so not expecting to be rushed through!

I guess some movement better than nothing though! It's been exactly 2 years since sent application. I thought i'd be in Canada by now!!

Honestly i dont know, i just worry as kenny mentioned clearing the backlog and then implemented it soon after, so why would he mention retrospectivly applying the new rules and then not implement it?

My big concern is how "in process" is now defined, is it including background checks etc or is it a preliminary "in process" to check if you are going to be on the new list for June.

I have seen people contacting London after several months of being in process, have had the response not to expect any movement for another 6-12 months, so either med requests will eventually filter through or the rules will be applied retrospectivly.

As for if you are still on the list or not, we we are not and got our AOR a long time after others, so i think its fairly random mixed with ECAS errors and maybe the fact we are off on a TWP.

It does depend what kind of day i have had at work as well... Doom and gloom on the forum is usually a result of a bad day!

Letter from CIC today, the same as everyone else...

"Thankyou for you interest in Canada... Looked at your file, need to do background checks... don't quit job... 6-12 months... don't bug us for at least 12 months"

Again, at least its movement!
I wonder if this means we are safe as long as we don't show up to be mass murderers or a medical liability?

It is their usual letter but you should expect your medical request any moment since your application is officially in process. Don't be pessimistic about it!

Goodluck!

Howdie, we have just received 2nd AOR from London stating we are eligible and being processed....how long do you think it really will be until meds are requested?

Yep, Billy - I think that pretty much speaks for all of us on here! We are all guessing at present - these are new letters, so we have no idea really as to whether we will truly be waiting another 6-12 months, or if we could get med reqs any time.... who knows? I personally am waiting to see the new updated occupations in demand list that I think is due out 1st week of July - then it might become clearer.... possibly??

Anyway, welcome to the forum!

It isn't their usual letter - it's a new one. I wouldn't expect to receive meds until the latter part of their estimated timeframe - so 10 - 11 months.

It's such a bad system, your life is totally on hold and so many people in the same situation which is awful. I now wished we had put my hubby down as principle applicant as he is a carpenter, I'm a manager in healthcare/business...like you said hope the updated list may throw more light on it. Do you think they take into consideration other applicants on your application? I felt all happy when I got this letter, but then came on the forum and realise it could still be a longer wait. I don't mind so much if it will be in the next 12months, but I know looking at some people's entries that even after medicals are done it can take another 12months!!!! ARRRRGGGHHH

Nope, no consideration of other applicants on your file, they have not provided all the evidence etc... I did ask this also, as the Mrs is still on the list.

All we can do is sit tight, personally I am expecting some big changes to FSW this year, so I think 2 months from now we will have a clearer picture, given the backlog has received a lot of "attention" so far this year I think it will be interesting to see what comes...

We sold our house last year and I got redundancy from work so really ready to go...also our 10yr old daughter only has final year in junior school so really really want to be processed by next summer. I have considered about new application for hubby but like you said probably best wait and see what happens. Also another query if you were on the original set of 2010 instructions NOC list but then on the 2011 wasn't..does this matter if I've got "you are eligible' letter? I applied under 0013/0014 but could have applied under 1122 for the 2011 instruction..do you think this is taken into consideration? although I know the cap has been reached for 1122.

No, as per sdo's reply above it won't be taken in to consideration at all, as you haven't provided proof doing the duties under 1122 etc. You'll only be considered against the NOC code you've stated on your application.

Which NOC code was that out of interest? You've put 0013/0014 above, but assume that's a typo.

Welcome to the forum btw.
