Default Time for Medicals? Mr. Miller..

Hi Mr. Miller:

I received my medical form/instructions in Dec 02 and was asked to wait for 6 months before getting it done. I got married and included my wife in my application and received her medical form/instructions in March 03. Now, we're planning to get it done in the end of this June (03) (i.e., six months from Dec 02 when I received my medical info). Hope it's the right thing/timing to do. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thank you for your time.

Yes, June is the time to do medicals for both of you, unless visa post asked
back in March your wife also not to do medicals for 6 months.

Thanks for your reply, Mr. Miller. The visa post didnt specify the time-frame for my wife's medicals and so we're planning to go in June. However, I've read on this forum time and again that people finish medicals earlier than when the visa post has asked them to. Is there a specific reason behind it or rush of blood? I know that if medicals don't remain valid by the time one is about to be given the PR, one has to redo it.

I also gather that for some reason it might take even a couple of months for the CIC to receive medical results once it's done. Is it true? If that's the norm, does it make sense to do medicals say after 4 months?

Thanks much.

Kismit

Some rush with medicals without waiting those 6 months they were asked for
in hope that it will speed-up the process. In small fraction of such cases
it works, but not in the majority. Many will have to redo their medicals.

Final decision is usually made about 3 to 6 or so months after medicals,
providing that no additional tests are requested and that
background/security check is concluded.
