I applied on 4/24.

Got a letter from CIC yesterday, it said that I'm qualify to sponsor my
wife. Also her whole package send to Hong Kong office from Ont. and will
processing there. Is that the AOR people talking about here?

I hope this is first good step.

AOR is "Acknowledgement of Receipt". People here usually refer to AOR when
they receive notice from the visa post that their skilled worker app has
been received.

With FC cases what you received could be considered the equivalent of AOR.

You got a sponsorship approval not an AOR. It is your wife who gets
the AOR. It will be a letter saying her request has been received, and
it will give her a file number.
