Still waiting for my passport!!! >:-/
Hello all,
After Buffalo FIIINNALLY sent me my passport request letter on May
3rd, 2003, I sent them my passport USPS mail, Next Day Express to them
on May 7th, they got it and someone signed for it Thurs, May 8th. I
enclosed a self-address stamped EXPRESS NEXT DAY envelope so they can
send my passport back to me as soon as possible... tomorrow will
officially make 2 weeks since they got it, and no word yet from them.
Here is the thing though: in my mailing, I also sent them a letter
stating that I had a mailing address change to a PO BOX. On E-client
as of yesterday, I noticed that they updated my address, but still no
word from them concerning my passport.... I faxed them twice to ask
what the dilemma is (b/c I'm worried the delay is because of my
address change to a PO BOX) but, of course, no response, but I'm
starting to wonder what is going on. The only reason I'm getting
freaked out is b/c I saw some posts where people got their passports
back in 5-7 days maximum. So I don't get it!?
Any advice anyone?? I'd really appreciate it -P

As far as I know they can't deliver express mail on P.O. Box ... check with usps
The other thing is that you can always TRACK your package online @ www.usps.com ... I am sure you have the tracking number.
good luck

I am facing a similar situation, received request letter (from CIC detroit) May01,03. Letter was very detailed and specifc, insucting only to use FEDEX if using courier. thats what I did and sent them the pports with return prepaid envelope. It got to them may 09,2003. Havnt heard from them uptill now........there is no address change in my case and the return evelope has my address in Canada. The letter stated that the processing standards are 10 business days in case of Courier. What does your letter say? and dont worry after all the waiting these few days will also pass......

The ONLY courier service that can deliver to a US POBox is US Postal
Service, providing it is a POSTAL STATION mailbox, not one at Mailboxes
Whatever.

Hey Folks,
I got 2 comments and 2 questions
Comments
1) Canadian Consulates in the US won't send back any passport(s) to a
P.O. BOx address, that's what i did actually when i filled my
Permanent Resident Visa authorization; they returned it back to me 3
days after and said i must put an address in USA/CANAD that relates to
either a residence or business.
2) - It takes the RCMP 90 days to process your police clearance
request from the date they receive your original form
- It take Ottawa health services @ least 6 weeks to put final result
in the computer sys from the day they RECEIVE your medical from your
DMP.
==================================
Now I have 2 Qzz plez, ( i am now in Canada)
Q # 1)
Does any Canadian consulate in US accept to send back documents using
UPS (client will pay for it) ?
Q # 2) can i go to UPS and buy a one day delivery envelop and i write
my address on it and attach it with my passport when it will be
requested or i can't do that, i know i can't send Xpress one from post
Canada because US post won't appreciate that but i hope if i can
attach a UPS envelop with my passport, any comment is strongly
appreciated.
Kindest Regards,
Alex
