Question Statutory Declaration for Common Law Sponsorship

Hi All,

How exactly does this work? Is there a form / template? or is it simply a case of having our friends swear in front of a lawyer the existence of our relationship etc.?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks but isn't that just for the sponsor and sponsoree?

I am talking more to the requirement for friends and family to sign something stating that your relationship is real?

I also can't find a link.

We had to get a signed affidavit from two friends drawn up by a notary. It said how long each friend had known us, and that they were in regular contact with us, that they socialize on a regular basis with both of us, and that it was from this regular and frequent contact that they knew we had lived together for more than 12 continuous months.

It cost alot more than a fiver......would have been cheaper to have got married!!
