sponsoring spouse
Hello Mr. Miller:
I would like to bring my girlfriend from Belarus to Canada. I am a landed immigrant
(sponsored relative, if it matters) since February 2002.
It seems that as I currently don't work, I cannot meet LICO conditions necessary
under fiancée immigration. Therefore I am thinking of going back to Belarus and
marrying her and then applying for spouse sponsorship. Another option would be
applying for visitor visa, and getting married here. However, from what I hear, it is
very unlikely that she (as a young woman, citizen of Belarus) would be able to obtain
such visa.
Which option would you recommend? Could you recommend a better way of approaching
this? Would you be able to assist in either of these situations?
Thank you for your help.
