I know of quite a few people who never saw a change until after they received their visa!
Also on the site it says they usually update on Tuesdays and that was updated on a Monday. So I guess it goes to show you there isn't really a way of telling when it will happen, it just happens.

I know when my husband talked to his DIO on the phone he mentioned to him a BF date of August. So this might also help those who wondered if they do check your file or if any progress happens before the BF date.

Thank Andrewmarre for letting me know how long after that message on ecas appeared, to you getting a ppr request in the mail. I was curious about that and was going to ask on the board.

If the outcome is positive to his letter which I am sure it is, he will be coming back the beginning of September. He has to give a months notice where he works and tie up some loose ends there.
If for some reason it isn't a good outcome then the kids and I will be moving there. I don't care where I live as long as we are together and he feels the same way.

I will keep you all updated as soon as I hear something else.
You're very welcome! Mind you, although the PPR arrived only a few days after ECAS suddenly changed, it still took them over 3 weeks from when they received the passport (I sent it special delivery) until it was returned with that lovely visa in it. Fingers crossed it works faster for you guys.

Yeah 3 weeks seems to be about the average time for the passports to return. We've waited this so long so a few more weeks won't make a difference now lol

We'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for you both. I guess we were just lucky to get it done reasonably fast (though it didn't feel like it at the time. Roll on 29 August when we get on the plane, sell the house and start the new life.

Hope to find you are all there too by then.

Couldn't agree more - it's the silences that are so worrying, but it is such a relief when it comes through! I hope that all those who've been waiting so long hear good news soon.

Hi all. As you know, we now have our papers and we're leaving for Canada on 29 August.

I want to make sure that it all goes smoothly when we arrive. Other than the immigration papers, does any one know what other papers we should carry to make it as easy as we can, or where we can look to ensure we have everything we need? All advice much appreciated....

Hi Andrew! Thats brilliant news for you! I think you just need to bring your goods to follow list and "proof of funds" with you visas! Once you've got it it should be easy peasy!

Better run - I've got to shut down the computer because the packers are coming today!!!

Unhappy Re: Share timeline-----Family Class!

Congratulations angel2k6, andrewmarre and all of you who've managed to survive to the PPR stage... and good luck to sarahbella, the TWs and GRiM who are nearly there. Can I add my timeline:

Submitted (to Mississauga) 10 Jan 07
AOR 19 Jan 07
Spouse sponsorship ok'd 15 Feb 07
Passed to CHC 13 Apr 07
60 day letter requesting more info 15 Jun 07
... as anyone who's read my Police Check Nightmare thread or seen the blog will know, this knocked us sideways but I've done everything I can so we will be returning the forms and extra info next week ahead of our 60 day deadline and from what I can gather from the well-informed Andrew Miller's recent post, this will undoubtedly mean another delay of several months.... so I guess I'll be a while on this Family Class timeline yet - so much for wanting to make an orderly transition by the start of the new school year.

I kept busy with my 2 jobs and literally worked day and night and tried not to think about the wait
Other then that I have no idea except for maybe keeping yourself busy perhaps doing a hobby you enjoy or finding a hobby that can keep your mind off things.

Newhoney:
That is terrible. Hopefully your police check turns up quickly. Have you tried just sending them the contact info you did get? When my husband was asked for a second Australian police check, we just sent them the contact info of their help desk and explained to the officer that the first police check we sent them was an original and we didnt feel the need to supply a new one. That seemed to do the trick. So I wonder if you try just sending along what you have and perhaps explain to them about the problems you are having obtaining one if that would help?

Andrewmarre:
I'm so happy to hear about your good news I do know you have to bring a goods to follow list if you are bringing stuff over with you. I am not sure about the proof of funds or anything else. When you got your paperwork back did it mention on there somewhere what you have to do? If not, I will check around and see if I can find anything on the subject and I will keep you posted.
