Self employed carpenter
We have just returned from Ontario on a fact finding mission. My husband has been offered loads of work, the prospective employers are only too happy to fill out any paper work needed, but theres a catch - most of the construction industry is on a sub-contractor basis. Can we still apply for a work permit based on this or does he need to be an employee???? Thanks in advance.

Re: Self employed carpenter
It has to be a regular, full time employment offer approved by HRSDC.

Just remember that above links are dealing with expedited processing for HRSDC approval. You still need full time employment offer, not offer to work as sub-contractor.
