Default Refugee Marrying

I am currently in canada, and a refugee claimant. I met my fiancee a
couple of months ago and we intend to get married soon. She is a
canadian Citizen. Will she be able to sponsor me? Do i have to cancel
my refugee application? If so who knows a good lawyer in Toronto, and
how long will it take for me to be landed?
Thanks everyone.

She will be able to sponsor you, but not as an "in-Canada" spousal class
since you do not have legal status in Canada. For her to sponsor you, you
would have to have your application processed outside Canada. You could
submit an H&C application, but marriage alone is not sufficient to process
in Canada. If you withdraw your refugee claim, you would have to leave
Canada immediately.

Well toughguy, my advice is to withdraw your application for CR status
and leave Canada and process your application thru a visa office. You
will get landed much faster than taking your chances in land. There
are some other considerations to factor intomthsi advice but time does
not permit me to deal with them all. You wil need professional advice
and assistance.
