Default Question about interviews

If the Canadian embassy is satisfied with the genuineness of the
marriage/relationship, what other reasons would they have for wanting to
interview a sponsored (outside) spouse? What kind of questions would they
ask?

Default Re: Question about interviews

The main reason for interview in spousal sponsorship from abroad is to
assess if relationship is a bona fide one or if it is a marriage of
convenience for the purpose of immigration. Documents like marriage
certificate and photos from the wedding submitted with application don't
prove bona fide of the marriage. Most refusals in this class are based on
the determination made during interview that it was marriage of convenience.

The other reason for the interview may be related to security matters in
those cases.
