PR Medical whilst pregnant?

PR Medical whilst pregnant?
We're currently in Canada on a TWP - we're going to submit fast track PR asap... However, we're also thinking of trying for a second child in 2009 - what happens if the med requests come whilst she is pregnant? Would they have to be deferred? Also worth noting that when she was pregnant with our first child, she had pregnancy induced hypertension - which is normally fine outside of pregnancy.
I'm concerned about the exposure of being here on a TWP in a difficult economic climate and want to get PR through asap to cover us, but also we don't want to have to delay conceiving again (we waited whilst we moved here).

Hi
Depending on the advice of your GP is quite possible that the x-ray portion of the medical would be delayed to after the birth of the child.

So we'd have to wait then basically? I thought as much.... I'd rather wait till PR comes through, but you can't argue with a broody woman

In early pregnancy the baby is way down in the abdomen and can be shielded by a lead apron, later in pregnancy its closer to the radiation but the baby still isnt in the direct beam. Women take plane journeys when pregnant without giving any thought to whether or nor the baby will get irradiated, similarly parents take small babies on planes. It's all relative.

Ideally I don't want to have to renew my TWP which is due end of Aug 2010.
