Default PR landing with citizen

My husband has his CoPR. We are planning to come to Canada in September.
He wants to declare himself as officially landed.
However I (the citizen) do not want to land as a returning citizen yet. I want to land as a visitor. Is it possible for us to do this?

Yes he can. He will have to declare that he is not establishing a residence so no goods to follow list is required and that you are a Canadian citizen and also not returning to establish a residence. He will not get a PR card unless he provides an address in Canada so would need to apply for a PRTD when he wants to return to Canada if no valid PR card. You would also have to enter on a valid Canadian passport if flying directly to Canada.

He will be establishing residence ... i won’t be. (I’m the Canadian) I assume that’s still ok?

That's what we did. My partner landed as PR and I said I was only staying 2 weeks then coming back to Australia. We used my sister's address for his PR card to be sent to since we didn't have a Canadian address yet.

Yes and his 5 year residency obligation starts the day he is landed as he would no longer be accompanying a Canadian citizen outside of Canada.

Yes, perfectly fine. He will then need his GTA / GTF lists.
