Please help - i'm just starting
Sorry if these questions has been asked a million times but i cant seem to find the answers amoungst the threads posted.
I'm interested in moving from the UK to BC and would like to know where to start. Is it best to apply for a working visa then get out there and try and find a job or to look for a job first?

Hello, Beefney, and welcome to the BE forum.
It's best (in fact virtually essential) to find a job first.
Suggest you read the Wiki section of the BE website, especially:

Hi and welcome!
It depends on a couple of things really - you can apply for a working holiday visa (Bunac) but only if you are under a certain age (I think it's 30 but do check that) and are single. Then that gives you a year to do any job in Canada.
Or, if you don't qualify for Bunac or want longer in Canada you can try and get a Temporary Work Permit (but can't apply for one until you've got a job, the job offer needs to come first) but the likelihood of you being able to get that depends on your occupation and experience really.
If you can give us a bit more info then someone might be able to give you some more specific advice. Another good idea is to have a good look at the Wiki (on blue bar at top of page) and have a read of some of the articles on immigration which will tell you more.
Good luck!
