Can I open a bank account just to deposit all my money that I keep in (american dollar),
get a receipt and send to Canada consulate with my application's documents? I would like
start my immigration process but I do not know how prove my founds. The officer will think
that this money don't belong me? What sould I do? Thanks Helder

Current bank statement is a sufficient proof of funds for immigration application process,
as long as those funds are in exchangeable currency and may be taken with you (or
transferred) out of your country when going to Canada.

A bank statement from a US dollar account in your name would be sufficient for the purpose
of demonstrating sufficient settlement funds. Additional information on this topic may be
