PANIC STATIONS.....advice needed asap!

We recieved our COPR forms today.....exciting times we thought, but they have given us a date to land......22nd May 2012.
We have to arrive in Canada by that date or start the whole process again!!
I wonder whether anybody else has been given a date like this.....less then 4 weeks away. I was under the impression PR activation had to happen within a year of your meds, therefore our's would be Jan 23rd 2013.
We have a recce trip booked June 7th.
I have emailed CIC but no reply yet!!
To say i'm stressed is an understatement!!

The trouble is money......we already have a long expensive recce trip booked and paid for in June. I realise it's not cheap to emmigrate and we are prepared for that but when an unexpected £1500 has to be spent it's stressful.
I am also a nurse and have my rota until end of June and it's not easy to swap shifts as we are extremely short staffed.
If CIC don't reply it will have to be a sweeping visit when i have 3 days off together, stay at airport overnight then come straight back to uk.
Roll on October and all this will be behind us and we will be settling into our new home in BC!!

just find the absolutely cheapest flight available. No need to fly to the place where you intend to live if just activating your PR

Another thing that worries me is can we re-enter canada after activating PR without actually having PR card as it can take 6 weeks.....then canadian snail mail so wouldn't arrive before our recce in june?

not sure about the question regarding the PR card but it has definitely been asked before - do a search. I believe that you can enter

It's an error on their part - they do make mistakes. Breath and calm down..
I have sent you a PM. All will be fine. They are just enjoying making you sweat!

In this one they have been given their COPRs but now complaining they havent been given enough time to land

Seriously I did sort of do a double take when I saw the expiry for landing date
. Yes CIC are human and the 2 is next to the 3 on a keyboard.I hope the OP doesnt have a swear jar in the house after opening the COPR letter and reading the expiry date.

Yes the main applicant can land before the other family members but make sure the others try not to land before the principal (main) applicant.

And yes have i sworn many a time today, and you know how us brits like to complain
CIC like to keep us on our toes and try to bankrupt us in this whole process!! I will be relieved when we finally go on a one way flight!!
