Ontario pnp
Hope someone can help!
we have had a notification to say they are opening the Ontario PNP foreign skilled trades tomorrow, do we need an Lmia to apply? He has the job offer but at the moment we have not processed an Lmia. The website is so confusing, from what I have read it seems we don’t?!
many thanks

If you can clarify which you’re asking about, we can try and help.

Re: Ontario pnp
No probs.
Ok, so an LMIA isn’t required, but is your husband already working in Ontario on a work permit? If not, the employer will need to show they’ve tried to recruit Canadians as part of the process. See the top bit of the page here - https://www.ontario.ca/page/oinp-emp...-worker-stream
Have you got everything else ready to apply as soon as it opens?

Re: Ontario pnp
He is currently not working in Ontario.
he has a job offer without an Lmia, he has his ontario certificate if qualification in his trade and we both have our ielts. Our house has just sold so we are currently waiting on the process of that for the funds.
we were going to go down the Lmia route but then received a notification to say this was opening and wondered whether it was worth applying?! Any advice on it would be great, the website isn’t exactly straight forward! TIA

He’ll need his employers support for a PNP app, again on the link I gave it tells you what the employer has to do.
The link sets out the requirements and the process, have a good read of that as it does explain it quite well I think. Just bear in mind that you’ll need to be refreshing from midnight EST, to try and submit before it shuts (there’s no set time it opens). And he’d only have 14 days to submit a full application, so it will depend on if you think you can get all the documents required in time?
HTH, good luck if you do decide to go for it!

P.S. just checking, but you mention selling your house for the funds - do you mean to move with? No proof of funds is required if you have a valid job offer.

Thank you so much!
im pretty sure we can get the paperwork sorted by then 😬 think we may just go for it, it’s worth a try 🤞🏼🤞🏼
That’s a bonus we don’t need proof of funds, although we need the money to set up out there!

OK. Applications are likely to close and open tomorrow, all spaces usually go within a day.

Re: Ontario pnp
Hi sorry to jump on this thread but I got on the OINP and was on the e-filing portal is busy page please refresh the page or try again later page. I was on this page for 3 hours refreshing the page and eventually it timed out. I was just wondering if it is normal to be on that page for so long without getting into the actual e-filing portal. I know that there are probably hundreds trying to apply through this stream.
It’s closed again now, did you manage it in the end?

Re: Ontario pnp
No It timed out I’m so disappointed I was up in the night checking as I knew it was opening and up at 5.30 am waiting. I got in the priority queue as soon as it opened and had my one key ready to log in, then spent hours waiting for it to let get to the portal. And didn’t get in, hopefully it will open again and it might be third time lucky we have all the paperwork ready to go as well.
