Default NSNP or federal skilled worker? Applying to London

Hi,

I am about to submit my application forms to London but am unsure of whether to go down the NSNP or Federal Skilled Worker route. I know the differences and obviously the costs (NSNP much much more!).

I am just looking for advice from others who have moved to NS and on what route they took and good or bad expereinces.

We would probably move to around Lunenburg, Guysborough or Antigonish.

Any advice or tips welcome.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi chinnybloke,

Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think you have a choice here. If you qualify for the Federal route then you are not allowed to apply under the NP. Tally up your points, if you have enough, then you have to apply via Federal.

I am sure you can apply PNP even if you qualify for federal skill worker category, PNP is much faster, but you have to make a promise to settle into that province.

Only PNP program one is not allow to apply is Nova Scotia Business program, as you need to pay province C$ 128,000 or may be more) thus they would not offer you if you could qualify under Federal Investor program (they do not want to seen competing with Federal program).
