Hi kay, from Halifax its normally 2-3 weeks and you should receive acknowledgment by email, check ur spam too, my 1st email landed in there. There have been a lot of folks getting in their apps before july so they may be extra busy. Once you get your acknowledgement it can be a few weeks before you hear again (6wks for us).
Its a patience game im afraid. Good luck

Hey Kayb, it really is a waiting game. It can be soooooo stressful! Alas we don't have a choice but to wait. We handed ours in at the immigration office and it took about 2 weeks to get an acknowledgement. I believe it's taking this long for yours because of the rush. It's been 2 months now and we still don't have nomination. It sure is a waiting game! Hang in there!

Hi kay
I think it is dependant on your application and how busy they are. Whilst we waited for nomination we had all our pics done, got our police certs and next phase of application ready so we could send it without delay. This wasnt costly so we bit the bullet.
Once our application went to CIC we were never asked for further info and there were no issues with our medicals. Theres another thread called timelines for pnp from outside canada, have a look on there there a few who seem to be hitting the 8-9 month mark at the moment, medical issue's seems to be the biggest delay. However like I said before if there is an influx of applications it will slow things down and from what other people have said it does slow a little during the summer months.

I don't know if I'm much help as I don't know if I'm nominated yet but here's what I did.

- One side of A4
- Opening paragraph introducing ourselves & a brief why we want to move to NS.
- Then talked about our education, skills, work experience & volunteer work & what we could bring to the community.
- Then talked about our finances & how we plan to support ourselves once there (ie, finding a job before we move, renting out our place in the uk to generate income, possibly starting a business).
- Any other future plans.
- Then just concluded it by saying why we would make ideal candidates.

I have know idea if what I wrote was ok or not but as there was a bit of a rush to get it done I just did the best I could. If you do a search on here there are quite a few threads on what others have said they wrote, some have gone into to great detail so it's worth having a look. Good luck

You're welcome. It also helps if you have an idea of what area you want to move to, that way you can research it & say why you think you will fit in well there & what you have to offer that particular community.
