Default Mr.Miller I too need your advice.......

Mr. Miller, found out about you much too late in my application process. after looking at the forums, I can safely say that you the most sought after imm professional on the web.

My application case was very interested and painstakingly long where they ottawa lost my wifes medicals and they were about to close the file then the Member of Parilment and the Imm. Ministers offices helped me etc.........but thats another story.

I got the request for the Passports recently from detroit. Sent them the passports (by FEDEX as instructed) May 08,03. they received the same on May 09,03. Thier letter stated that it takes 10 business days by courier as service standard. Havent received anything yet nor has the e-client status been updated since the interview last year.

1) it might be a naive question ; but, Does it take this long and is it usual for them to go beyond the service standard in returning the passports? or do you feel there is something wrong?

2) I have been in Canada with my family since the last 2 years on tempory resident status. At the time of landing at niagra falls will landing funds be an issue. I have a canadian bank account with a letter from the bank. will that suffice?

I will really appreciate any input & and hope you get the time to reply.

1) 10 working days from May 9th will pass tomorrow (note that it was a
Victoria Day holiday). Aren't you getting little bit too panicky? "Service
standard" is just the average time frame they would like to comply with, but
it is not always possible. Also note that those "10 working days" mean the
time frame they need to mail passports back - add to it time for getting it
from Detroit to your place. Calm down... :-)

2) Yes, recent statement from bank in Canada will suffice. Also note that if
you received points for arranged employment then you don't even need to have
settlement funds.

Default thanks

loads of thanks for your response. Yes, I do think I am getting a bit too panicky. Its just that my case has taken 4 years to finalise and that too without any mistake of my own. I have once too many recieved letters from Immigration mentioning time frames which are never adhered to. thanks again I will keep you posted.

regards,

Moe
