more $$ for immigration
I received AIP for inland spouse application two months ago, and did the
medicals at the same time.
Now my status is going to expire in about a month and I have not heard
anything from immigration since the AIP. I am expecting the
finalisation any week now, but it looks like I will probably have to pay
yet another $75 to extend my status once again.
If I pay the $75 now, what if my application is complete before my
current status expires - will they refund? Also it seems a bit
ridiculous having to pay even more money given they only extended mine
by 6 months when extending others for a whole year.
$75 might not be much to some, but when you have to bring up a kid and
survive on one income it adds to the list of things to pay! Its
frustrating when all the government immigration system seems to be is a
cash cow for them - its not like they haven't already had enough cash
from me.[/rant]

You can try calling them..
I feel your pain.
Inland spouses should automatically get a year
as long as they apply within 3 months of their extension.
Or if their extension was sent for with the PR App. then
they should get a year to complete is unless guaranteed processing will be
done before 6 month expiration.
Yes, I can also see that the only reason for this is to milk another 75$ out
of people already possibly strained by having only one income and many fees
to pay. This takes food from the mouths of children and adds strain during
an already difficult time. Family sponsorship for spouses should be easier.
No Fair, I agree!
