Hi there, i used to live in Edmonton Alberta, i am returning there in October to marry my partner who is on a twp. I am currently back in the uk. I know if he was to come to the uk he would need a spouse visa, but what would we need to do if i was to return to canada?

Presumably he is not a UK citizen if he needs a spousal permit for the UK. If you are a Canadian citizen, you would apply to sponsor him once you are married.

If you are not Canadian or with valid PR you would be admitted as a visitor.

Would they not be able to get a Open WP on the basis they are married to a TWP holder?

I believe that depends on what the TWP holder does.

Well yes - as long as they have a TWP under the correct skill level, the new Wife should be able to get an Open Work Permit, yes?

Then it is quite possible that it is in NOC C or D, semi skilled or unskilled. If it is, then there is no Spousal Open Work Permit.
