Marrying
In the near future my Canadian girlfriend and I will get married. I am from
the UK. Do I need a 6 months visitor visa to remain in Canada once we are
married while we apply for my PR status as it says UK citizens don't require
a visitors visa normally to visit Canada? How long approx would my PR
status take to be processed?
Thanks

Re: Marrying
It is irrelevant that you don't need a visitor visa in your passport as such
is only the permission to come to Canadian port of entry and ask for
admission, nothing else. What you need is to keep your visitor status valid
at all times until PR status is granted - thus you need to apply for
extension of your stay about 5 weeks before your admission expires. Note
that you may be admitted originally for up to 6 months, not for 6 months -
thus your admission may be granted for anywhere from few days to 6 months.
Entire inland PR process may take anywhere from 6 to 12+ months to complete.
