Default LMIA advertising fee

Hello everyone. I am convining my boss to help me with the LMIA. It seems we don't need to spend $1000 for the purpose of supporting PR however I found the advertising could be a huge problem here. Acc. to the min. adverising requirement, the employer should advertise in at least 3 websites for min. 4 weeks, and does anybody has a clue what is the cheapest websites or papers and what will the cost be? Somebody told me that should be around 5K CD a month which is way too high I'm afraid......
Thanks for commenting on this.

I don't think Kijiji would count unfortunately, the websites must be 'general employment websites' (i.e. monster.ca), or must be industry specific. Kijiji would be too vague.

But I agree that $5k doesn't seem necessary, I'm sure it could be done for cheaper and the OP will just have to hunt around and find the cheapest paper or websites that do qualify, or look at other options such as recruitment agencies.

Good luck OP.

Hiring Skilled Workers and Supporting their Permanent Residence | ESDC

It says 'jobbank or Provincial job website' plus..

Using 2 or more additional methods of recruitment consistent with the normal practice for the occupation. (It doesn't specify that it has to be websites)

as a minimum, employers must choose one method that is national in scope, since people in higher-skilled positions are often mobile and willing to re-locate for work; and
employers can choose one or more recruitment methods among these:
print media (national or provincial/territorial newspapers, national journals, magazines with national coverage, specialized journals, professional associations magazines, newsletters, etc.);
general employment websites (canadastop100.com, vault.com, workopolis.com, monster.ca, etc.); and,
specialized websites dedicated to specific occupation profiles (e.g. accounting, marketing, biotechnology, education, engineering, etc.)

Employer Resources - Job Bank - (or Provincial) free

Post a Job - Job Postings for Employers - Workopolis - $595 for 4 weeks.

So you would only have to find a 3rd one that is reasonably priced and the total would be under $1,000. You can find different job websites and resources here http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Findin...unities-Canada

(Hint! Indeed posts can be free! http://ca.indeed.com/hire/post-job)

Thanks everyone. Did some reaserch and found that there's a $100 discount for a 60-day job post on monster.ca which is now $525. Keep digging....
