Default LMIA

Does it have to be a full-time job?

I can't find anywhere that says it does, which suggests it could be a part time job, but just because it doesn't say it doesn't mean it's correct, as we well know with CIC.

I have experience/skills as a soccer coach, but always ruled it out as a potential return to Canada because of the fact that it would almost always provide part time employment, but based on my latest research, that might not be an issue?

A LMIA can be granted for any job, whether full or part-time.

I'd imagine the stumbling block would then be qualifying for PR, as you'd limit yourself to only being eligible under CEC and having to wait until you've done the equivalent of a year full-time before you could even apply.

I'm already eligible under FSW, because of work I have done in the past (skill level B). So this would be purely to get the 600 point booster.

I'm heading out for a few months in July to try and pair myself with an employer who is looking for foreign workers. But just trying to cover all bases so that I can hit it as accurately as possible and give myself the best chance of securing a job offer and getting the extra 600.

But that's my point - for the arranged employment 600 point booster, you need both the LMIA and a written job offer for a full-time job.
