Job offer before PR application
I've read posts by quite a few people on here now who are going through the FSW process and have a job offer. It looks like up until May this year when the requirements for the FSW programme changed a bit the processing times were around 23 months (who knows what they're like now).
What I'm wondering is, what employer would give someone a job offer who won't be able to start work for another 1-2 years? Or would most applicants with job offers already be in Canada on a TWP/IEC or similar?

Re: Job offer before PR application
Depending on the province and the skill level of the job you could go through the Provincial Nomination Program.
In Ontario where we are applying, you get a twp whilst waiting on PR. The job offer needs to be for an A, B or 0 skill level on the NOC list. They need to apply for a pre-screen of the job with Opportunities Ontario and upon acceptance of the pre-screen (about 60 days) you can submit your application for PNP. This can take 90 days to accept (or decline) at that point afaik, you can then get a twp at poe.
Alternatively, you may be able to get an LMO for the job but that can take 20 weeks (sometimes more, sometimes less).

That's how we did it: OH had a job offer, got a positive LMO and TWP at POE, then applied for the PNP Ontario ($2000 in the GTA or $1500 for the rest of Ontario), applied for PR.

Ours was pure luck. It was a UK business with offices all over the world. Hubby got chatting with someone, sat some technical tests and bobs your nana's live in lover.

workopolis I think and a work field related job page I forgot the name. Also looking at different companies/cities job sites. Was a long and sometimes frustrating way until we finally had PR. To be honest getting the job was by far the easiest in our case. We were lucky as they needed exactly what OH could do.

What was your OH's work?

Transport and Logistics. Try to get contacts from companies that you know do what you can do. It's a lot of networking here, too. Conferences, linked in etc. Get a Canadian email address. It seems they sometimes dismiss co.uk ones straight away. Which Province are you looking at?
Good luck!
