How is the IT market in NS at the moment just out of curiosity?
Quebec sounds amazing and I always wanted to visit Montreal but my French is nowhere near good enough to live there unfortunately.

There is an IT market on the rock?
Plenty of Anglos get on OK in Montreal without French FWIW.

Apparently not so good then I'll definitely bear that in mind about Montreal though, thanks.

I have a similar situation to Elliot. I am Interested in pursuing a job as a freelance web developer/programmer. I have a number of UK clients that I would continue to support and this would actually represent ~80% of my income. In addition I would be looking to increase my client bas to include Canadian companies, some of which I already have contact with. I have 6+ years working for a large blue-chip organisation in the Information Systems, BI areas in a technical capacity and 2 years self-employed.
Its difficult to understand how the visa and permits that are available can accommodate my personal circumstances. A temporary Work permit seems to be the quickest way but without a "full-time" job I understand that it would be difficult (if not impossible). I score very highly on the points system >80 but I know that this isn't a guarantee.
Has anyone been through similar process?
Is there an organisation that myself and my partner can contact for a consultation on what options are best for us?
Note: At this stage we are not looking at immigration (unless this is the only way!) - I would like to live and work in Vancouver for a year or two before deciding to stay permanently.
