What is the ruling on interview waiver? I thought that you were only called to an
interview if your points were borderline? We are going under the independent skilled
worker programme, my husband has enough points without the interview for suitability,
will we have to go for an interview?

Interview waivers should be considered the exception, and not the rule. On average
worldwide, the vast majority of applicants attend selection interviews. Additional

Hi:
The general rule is that every applicant is required to attend an interview. However,
in some cases CIC may determine that it is not necessary to interview an applicant
who has a total of 70 points or more without personal suitability factor points, and
all of the documents are in order without any discrepancies.
Yours truly, Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.
