hello,

My qualification : Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication Job :
Working as Software Engineer for past 4 years

Is it required to have my BE degree assessed to apply for immigration.

If it is to be assessed, from where should it be certified?

Rgds, Naseem

If you want to apply as Software Engineer then you should have your qualifications
assessed by Canadian Council of Professional Engineers

http://www.ccpe.ca/

It would be also advisable to have an assessment done by Canadian Council of
Technicians and Technologists, just in case CCPE assessment comes negative:

As a general rule, IT professionals are not required to obtain CCPE evaluation. There
are exceptions, however, which would be governed by the duties associated with your
work, and the office to which you intend to submit your case.

As far as I remember Software engineers are exempt from certification.

Have fun, Alex.

Call yourself a software programmer rather than an engineer and you won't have to
bother getting your qualifications checked out. Unless your a hot shot and want to be
a real charted (licenced engineer) in Canada.

Cheers

Tim
