immigrating to Quebec

I have applied for immigration to Canada. In my application I indicated Toronto as
my destination. In case I get my immigration papers, how easy will be for me to go
directly to Montreal when entering Canada? Are there any insurmountable obstacles
to do that?

You would be better off to go to Toronto first and then forward to = Montreal.
Your application was in part assessed based on your ability to earn a = living in
Canada and this may in part be based on where you had = indicated you would settle.
Montreal may have different economic = realities for your occupation and that may
have made a difference in the = officers decison.
As we all know, Quebec administers their own selection and Immigration = Program
as well. =20

My advice would be to head for Toronto first and then to Montreal. It is 5 hours
by bus. There is freedom of movement when you are in Canada but you may have a
hassle with health insurances etc... because you do not have a Certificate de
Selection de Quebec.

Hi
I am a PR who lives in Quebec, I have a CSQ. I know someone who did what you plan to
do. Land outside Quebec, then move directly there. There is nothing legaly wrong with
doing that, but you will have hassels when applying for a Carte d'Assurance de
Maladie, drivers licence, etc. You should still be able to receive free French
lessons, but again expect hassel as you would have shown that you did not establish
residence outside Quebec.
The person I knew was able to obtain all these things but found things took longer,
questions asked by provincial government officials as to why you did not establish
residence in another province etc.
It does help alot if you speak French when dealing with Quebec governement people.

No, after you land you are free to live and work anywhere in Canada.
