IMM0008 - question on "dependants"
Hello - ok I think I have this right but just want to double check:
(I'm sponsoring my husband, our daughter is Canadian by birthright)
On form IM0008, page 3, "Dependants" ... it says to provide details about family members - though in the guide it says if you don't list everyone then you won't be able to sponsor them in the future:
Well, presumably he doesn't have to list myself or my daughter as we are both already Canadians therefore there's no risk of not being able to sponsor us? But we are technically still his dependants (he's the main earner) ... so does he have to include us, or leave blank?
Urgh. Brain in circle mode!

Re: IMM0008 - question on "dependants"
I would say include you and your daughter because if I remember correctly, it says to include any and all dependents whether they are accompanying you or not. It is not going to hurt anything to include you, but if you dont include yourself and your daughter, the application is essentially saying your husband does not have any dependents, which is not true.

Hi
Please read the instructions, you don't include dependents who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents in the sponsorship.

I apologize. PMM is right. I didn't remember correctly after all.

Yeah - I read the instructions ... but you know how you can start overthinking/complicating!
Thanks for clarifying and being the voice of reason
