IEC expires tomorrow! tourist visa implied status confusion
First of all thank you to everyone who puts useful information on this forum. I have a question regarding implied status.
I have already read the Read Me regarding implied status and the IEC program when applying for new work permit/ 'extension' of IEC. I am however unsure about implied status when applying for a tourist visa under the IEC, I have read some people who claim its possible to have implied status while waiting for a tourist visa, but on the Read Me it states:
"* Participants in international youth exchange programs (e.g., Student Work Abroad Program (SWAP), International Experience Canada (IEC) or Working Holiday Program (WHP)) do not benefit from implied status, unless extending a work permit not initially issued for the time limit authorized by the program."
I applied to extend my stay in Canada as a visitor online but applied 10 days rather than the 30 days before my IEC visa expires.
I received confirmation of payment and a message confirming CIC have received my application and will contact me if they require additional information.
My IEC visa is due to expire tomorrow and I have not been contacted since the confirmation messages.
Will I have implied status when my IEC visa expires or will I need to leave the country/ flagpole and get a tourist visa at the border?
Also do CIC usually contact you/ give you some kind of document saying you have implied status?
How can I be certain if I have implied status or not?
Thank you in advance for any replies.

Hi
1, As you applied for visiitor status before your IEC expired, you have implied status until CIC makes a decision. You realize you must stop working.
2. No, CIC doesn;t send you anything other than a letter telling you to leave or a visitor permit.
