Hi,

I want to know how strict they are about the precise photograph specfications
[Buffalo Consulate]? I am sending photos that are meeting all the requirements in
terms of size, background, etc. The only thing is that they have been taken from one
of those Poloriod cameras that produce 2 instant photos at one time. Thus, all the
photos are not identical. They look *similar* but are not *exactly* identical.

Is this going to be a problem? Should I be taking new photos?

TIA

Yes, it will be a problem. You should go to the photo studio where they take
photos with regular cameras using negatives. Then order as many identical prints
as you want.

Our expereince is that Buffalo will not even notice. CIC asked for dentical
photographs in anticipation of a photo id card being introduced to replace teh IMM
1000 wghich is a 8 by 14 inch document. Like the last attempt at this iit was still
born and CIC is back to the drawing board.

I would like to ask Mr. Miller if he has ever had a file returned by Buffalo for this
reason . We have not.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to try to interpret any application requirements
(including photo specs) or try to look for the way around them. The fact that
applications submitted with photos not meeting specifications are not returned yet
from Buffalo doesn't mean that they won't be returned next time. Why take any
unnecessary risk if going to photo studio is not that complicated...

Photograph requirements have become increasingly strict. It is best to comply, but
the application would not be substantially delayed in the case that the photographs
are found unacceptable.
