How long HRDC approval takes?

How long HRDC approval takes?
Hi, I am appling for extension of work permit for another year. I wonder how much time the HRDC approval takes now. Last year it took two or three weeks, bit this year I heard that the cases are processed slowly.

They quote up to 3 months however this depends on where youare applying. We have just recieved HRSDC validation in 3 days from Fredericton NB.

From inside Canada, took 6 weeks approx. Employer to submit, then to return to us, 6 weeks. They sent it as an emailed PDF file. Nice and easy.
Employer was told delay due to new systems at HRDC, may be cause of delays and backlog.
This was for a new labour market opinion, not renewal.
