Hi,
I'm busy applying for my study visa to be amended so I can apply for work. When completing the form, it asks for the date when permanent residency was granted. Where will I find this? Is it just the same as the original date of entry?

You don't have Permanent Residency.

Students are able to work off campus without a work permit, provided they qualify.

1. It sounds like the OP has a pre June 2014 Study permit, which doesn't permit off campus work in itself.
2. So s/he has to apply for an amendment to the Study permit as per the instructions here: Request to Amend the Record of Landing, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or Valid Temporary Resident Documents

Yes, PMM, I do have the pre June study permit. I have most of the form filled in. I don't know why i said permanent residency. I need to know when temporary residence was granted. Is that the date we actually arrived in Canada, or would it be a different date?

If you look at the study permit there should be the date it was issued and thats the date you use.
