Default Going abroad whilst waiting for PR

Hello we are waiting for PR result but it is taking a long time. We are thinking of packing everything up here and spending a few months in Mexico. If we get PR would we be able to go to Canada from Mexico even though we applied from UK?

Oh, I assume you lived in Canada. What stage are you at and which province? If you've already been nominated then is moving on a work permit not an option?

hello yes could do that but currently wait time is 9 months for work permit. Would i be allowed to enter Canada from Mexico if i get PR even though i applied from England and then went on extended holiday to Mexico?

And as above - what stage are you at (i.e. how long ago did you submit the PR app), and which province/stream of the PNP?

I'm just wondering why the work permit isn't an option if you want to get there asap (applying at the airport when you arrive, not via a visa office), and also the answers above will have a bearing on whether you can wait in Mexico for the rest of the process.

hi i wasnt aware that if I got a provincial nomination for Alberta that I could apply for work permit at the airport and just come over? I am being guided by my employer in alberta and they are a bit vague. I applied under skilled worker as I am a MH Nurse and have a job offer. I thought as I have applied for PR I have to wait until I get an answer? I applied in Aug 23 and have done biometrics and medical just waiting to hear

OK, do you mean the EE Stream? If so, then yes, you can get a work permit if you have a letter of support. No need to wait for PR at all. https://www.alberta.ca/aaip-alberta-...ed#jumplinks-2
