Default financial documents for visitor visa?

I'm an immigrant of Canada. And I want to invite my parents to visit me. The
following financial supporting documents will be needed:

1. a notarized copy of the Summary page (usually page two) from your most
recent T451 Notice of Assessment form from Revenue Canada;
2. a letter from your employer stating the length of employment and salary,
if applicable
proof of self-employment income, if applicable
3. a bank or other savings statement certified by your branch manager
(optional)

I don't know if all these three documents will be required or just one or
two and which is a must.

Because I didn't work in 2001, my income at my tax report for 2001 is less
than $100. I'm rather concerned about this. I don't know if there is any
negative effect on my parents' application for visitor visas.

what is the minimum of salary and balance at my bank account in order to pay
for their visiting?

Thanks for your kindness.

All three documents should be provided, ideally. This can avoid delays
associated with requests for omitted documents.

If the letter from your employer accompanies this document, that should
not be a problem.

There is no fixed amount. It depends on the officer's discretion, and
will take the duration of the stay and the location of your residence
into account.

1. you need all of it..

2. there is no such thing as a *minimum account balance*... what they want to see is that you have regular income and will be in a position to support them if they are not able to do so themselves, and that includes their medical expenses, living expenses and repatriation if required... do the math... how much do you think you will need...

Hi:

You will have to provide everything that is requested, if applicable.

You can indicate in your letter of support that you were not working in
2001, and provide proof that you will be able to financially support your
parent's while they visit you in Canada. There really is no set amount, it
depends on several considerations such as the number of individuals in your
household, your own parent's financial capacity to support themselves while
they visit you, etc. Alot of weight will be given on your salary and your
bank balance.

Yours truly,
Ingrid Y. Chen, B.A., LL.B.
