Default Express Entry work experience query

My husband is about to set up his Express Entry profile and we're a bit confused about how he should answer the question about skilled work experience in the initial eligibility questionnaire. It says that the experience needs to be 'continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation'. He worked as a vet for 6 months then in research for a year and again as a vet since mid 2012. So does he just count the last 2 and a half years or so as his total or can he tag on the 6 months earlier? Adding that extra 6 months to make over 3 years experience would put him into the 3 years experience category and give him more points. Can anyone please clarify which he should choose please?

To confuse me further the definition for skilled work in the FSW details section says the experience must be at least one year, continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time and in the same NOC skill type (0, A or B) - so does that mean that all of the work (as they're all type A jobs) can be counted together to give 4-5 years?

In either case, are the answers from the eligibility questions considered in the points calculation or is this done solely on the answers within the express entry profile set up in MyCIC?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

It would be the specific NOC code he chooses to set his EE profile under.... That he would need the experience in..

Out of interest does he need to convert qualifications to work as a vet in any given province in Canada and has he them assessed/verified for his profile?

1. Also the OP requires an ECA for his veterinary degree as well as his language results for English, either IELTs or CELPIP (only available in Canada) before he can submit a profile for Express Entry,

Thanks, we will discount the research work then and focus on the vet jobs. Do you know if the initial 6 months work as a vet can be added to the last few years?

He has had his veterinary degree assessed with WES, has his language test results and has his CQ to allow him to practice in Canada. He's in the process of obtaining his license for working in BC so he's all covered on those fronts. Just need to get the profile submitted before we miss another low draw
