Express Entry or Atlantic Immigration Pilot
Hi,
I need some advice, my son is 31 and did not emigrate with my wife, son and daughter and myself six years ago.
We are now Canadian Citizens and are looking again at how we can help our son get here, I have spent time on the CIC site and need to know where to go next.
He is Cat B code 1241 Admin and we have a friend who is happy to offer him a full time permanent job and provide a letter to that effect.
It appears he will need ILETS for Express but not the AIP scheme, the rest appears very similar although the employer needs to jump through more hoops in the AIP schem.
Am I reading that correct?

Either way the employer will need to do more than just give him a letter. For him to claim points for arranged employment via EE he’ll need a LMIA as well.
Is is the job offer genuine i.e. something he already has experience of?

The job offer is genuine, he has experience of it but I would say 75% to 80% of the job, the rest he will learn when he starts.

P.S. Just re-read your first post, he needs IELTS for either route.

High skilled:
Education
- You must have a high-school diploma, post-secondary certificate or degree that is valid and equal to a Canadian equivalent.
- If you did not complete your studies in Canada, you’ll need an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to show that your studies are equal to a Canadian secondary or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree.
- Your ECA report must be less than five years old on the date we receive your application.

Re: Express Entry or Atlantic Immigration Pilot
If he's in IT - have you looked at the Atlantic Provinces Pilot Program Global Talent Stream?
There's a post here that may be of interest
Global Talent Stream - we have IT vacancies
Edited to add........
I wonder if that could get him a few extra points for education?
Look at this thread - there are some posts that may be of use regarding the BTEC.. it's long, so keep going! BTEC National Diploma in IT - IQAS & WES Evaluation
and I don't have time right now to look through all these, but here's a ton more threads/posts about BTEC's and recognition of them - (google search but all links are on BE) https://www.google.ca/search?q=IQAS+...w=1400&bih=677

Thanks Siouxie, unfortunately he has not used his IT skills for 12 years working mainly in Admin.
