Default explanation of "1 year back log"? Buffalo...

Hello,

A friend of mine just called the Buffalo processing center ((716)
858-9501) and heard that there is a "one year back log" for processing
PR applications.

What exactly does "one year back log" mean? Does this mean they won't
even look at the application until a year after they receive it, or
does it mean that the application will be reviewed and applicant
either accepted or rejected within 1 year of the application
submission?

Thanks!

It means it will take at least a year to process. It's that simple.

"1 year backlog" means that they have more applications that they can process
on current basis - today received case will not be assessed for at least a year
as they are now assessing applications received in October 2001. Please look
here for more information about current Buffalo's processing times:

They mean that they will take about a year to begin processing an
application received today.
