file transfer question for family class.
I originally have an interview scheduled in NY office, I am unable to attend
since I am not able to obtain a visa to go to US. I know I can request my
case to be transfered to my home country, China and attend an interview in
Beijin embassy.
What is the procedure and the fee to request a file transfer? I know the
processing would probably start from scratch. What a bummer!
Can anyone share their experince of file transfer? I am interested in
finding out whom I should request the transfer, what is the method of
payment and how much time is necessary for my file number to be created in
the new office?
Thanks in advance.

Mere;y write aletter to the office concerend and ask that the file be
transferred to Beijing. Tell them you cannot attend interview in USA.
There is no fee. You wil now go to the bottom of beijing very large
pile of files.

Re: file transfer question for family class.
Simply inform Buffalo and request a file transfer to Beijing post if
your case is processed in Buffalo which I guess so. And also do your
follow-up work in case your application is delayed like my friend's.
New rule puts your transferred application at the end of queue.
Beijing Embassy has a long waiting line for famliy class. But spousal
cases are much faster.
What is your case type, spouse or parents? Please let me know as I am
in the same process.
