Emigrate from South Africa to Canada
Secrets of Immigration Success
By Robin Elliott www.dollarmakers.com
We all know that having a baby is only the start of raising a child. And
buying a car is one thing, but knowing how to drive it is another. We take
computer courses and study for years in universities and colleges to learn
important skills. We hire expensive lawyers and accountants and use
financial advisors.
YET, when it comes to emigration, potentially the most important and also
dangerous move we will ever make, it amazes me how few people realize that
they need help and advice. Arriving in a new country, one is extremely
vulnerable. We're unconsciously incompetent: we don't know that we don't
know. Confidence and a good self-image are a good thing. And knowing that I
don't know is a sign of wisdom.
It makes sense to me that I can fast track my success and avoid pitfalls,
moves past the minefields directly to the goldfields, by learning from
someone else's mistakes and successes. In business, I find successful people
to mentor and coach me and I model their behavior. It works.
I have found, after five years in Canada, that WHO you know, and knowing the
RIGHT people, is crucial in every aspect of one's new life. Networking and
connections is vital. Especially when it comes to jobs and business, but
also regarding the purchase of a home, a car and life insurance. With the SA
Rand so weak against the Canadian dollar, smart decisions are not a luxury;
they're a necessity.
At least two new immigrant families arrive in Vancouver, B.C., every single
day from South Africa. Many are on the way here. In order to help those
still in SA to create a firm foundation for their future success by giving
them pertinent advice and linking them to credible and viable people and
businesses, I am presenting a seminar In Pretoria, SA, in January of 2003.
Our sponsors include VirtuallySA, United Furniture Warehouse, Remax and the
like. This is not about how to emigrate, but how to succeed once they get
here.
I invite anybody who is interested in attending this seminar to e mail me
