hi all, i am just wondering if anyone has seen or felt any effect of these plane
crashes, and the ongoing war in afghanistan, on the visa or immigration processes.
are the applications being delayed, screened heavily, or denied altogether because
of this ????

Screening of all applicants has always been relatively strict. It can only get more
so now. I did note that the High Commission in Islamabad has been reduced to the bare
minimum with families evacuated. No one has said what would happen to applications in
process there. Jim Humphries, former visa officer

The official word from Canada's government at this point is that there is no effect
in the manner in which applications will be processed, nor will any specific
nationalities suffer as a result. Additional information on this topic may be found

The savage attacks in NY have heightened awareness and there will = certainly be a
closer examination of security issues.

As Jim says, Islamabad has reduced capacity and in fact has stopped = applications
for visitors and students. =20

Will others be affected, of course. Daily the government is announcing = millions of
additional resources to combat the scourage of terrorism.

Specifically with CIC, Bill C-11, received some review by the Senators = who clearly
were concerned with security issues. It is likely at this = time that the Minister
would get whatever she wanted.

As a side note for discussion in another forum, it is interesting to = note use of
language. Some people view the event as attacks while = others see it as plane
crashes. No offense to current poster, but = interesting.

Sorry folks I guess by poly sci background
