Do you receive financial support from your sponsor?

Do you receive financial support from your sponsor?
I have a question regarding the last question on the IMM5490 Sponsored Partner Questionnaire form.
It asks whether I receive financial support from my sponsor. I am currently in Canada on as a tourist/visitor as my work permit expired a few months ago
Anyways, as I am able to work at the moment we are dependent on my sponsor's income. However as we live together it is easy to put a set monthly amount, and there is not Western Union receipts etc. to prove this.
We also have savings accumulated from when I was working so I the worst came I would be able to be self sufficient for a while.
So should I say Yes or No? Any thoughts/opinions?
Thanks,
burks.

I'd say the best policy is honesty.
You can always write a continuation sheet letter where you can explain why it is you receive support, and how it works for you.

I'm thinking you don't, because right now you're living off your savings and you *could* survive on only your savings if you needed to... however, as AnneMarieC said, you can always explain that you're not working because you're in between jobs (waiting for a work permit/PR), so while your SO is paying for things for you, you could live off your savings... dunno. It's kind of a grey area, I think you should provide the letter in any case. (Generally I don't see it being a big deal, though, just be clear and honest!)

If you are living with your partner and they are supporting you financially - which would be reasonable if you are unable to work due to immigration laws (lack of a work permit) - then there is no reason not to answer truthfully. If you don't, then they are going to wonder how you are supporting yourself!

I would add a sheet explaining the circumstances as well.
I was supported by my sponsor financially for 5 years prior to PR being granted - it's a normal part of being in a relationship if unable to work.
It's not a trick question, lol.
