Do PR holders get 'counted out' at airports?
When leaving Canada - particularly by air - does CBSA take note of PR holders' individual details? I don't recall having to show my PR card to a human the last time I left, just some automated reader to open a gate.
Does anyone have a definitive answer please? Lancastrian, perhaps?

When checking in at Pearson/Toronto we have been asked to produce our PR cards...not every time, but quite often.

What I'm trying to establish is whether records are actively kept of individual PRs' departures.

no idea but it did strike me as rather strange. Normally when leaving the UK we have to produce either US PP or Canadian PR to enter the US or Canada..but I have never had to produce such when departing.

I have never had to show my PR card when departing Canada, just my passport.
Canada does know the basics of who is exiting the country.

They collect basic passenger information from airline manifests, which will have your name, passport, birth-date and such, and I am sure CBSA can connect the dots without the air carrier needing to see the PR card.

From Bill C-21 (and as J has said above) - “The CBSA will receive exit information directly from air carriers in the form of electronic passenger manifests.”
