Default Difference between TRP and TRV

I came in Canada 4 months ago with visitor visa. In the meantime regulations are changed and now they call that kind of visa temporary resident visa (TRV), I think. Now I have a job offer and I want to apply for work permit but I am not sure if I have rigth to apply in Canada. On CIC website I saw that people who hold temporary resident permit (TRP) valid for 6 months have right to apply for work permit in Canada.
My visa is valid for 6 months but I don't know what is the difference between TRV and TRP. Does anybody know, do I have right to apply in Canada? Thanks.

You have a visitor visa (TRV). A Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) is a
replacement for former Minister's Permit - you don't have such. You must apply
for work permit outside Canada.
