If a PR commutes daily from Canada to US to attend US college will this
interfere with his application for Canadian citizenship? ( assuming PR spends
each night in Canada)

If I remember correctly I read previously somewhere here that this commute would not
be a problem to maintain PR status under the old 183 rule but might pose a problem
for the citizenship application.

What do the experts think?

If you commute every morning to US and are coming back every evening to Canada then
each such day is counted as day of residency in Canada.
