Changing Status

Changing Status
Sadly my husband was let go from his job last week.
He is on a 3 year TWP expiring May 2016. I know he is a allowed to stay in the country until it expires but does he have to inform anyone about his job loss, i.e. does he have to do a change of status for CIC.
(Now we realise why his firm was so slow getting back to us about the LMIA!)
The good news is he has already had several approaches from business happy to apply for LMIA when necessary!

Re: Changing Status
Hi
1. No, he doesn't have to inform anyone, or change status. He can remain until the work permit expires, but requires a new work permit to work for anyone else.
