Car taxes and duties
We are PRs, driving through the US border in early August. We will do basic research, apply for PR card, look for housing and school and return back in 2 weeks. We will then go back permanently after the winter.
Question 1- Do we have to pay duty on the car when we go in August? If so, would it be more prudent to rent a car since we do not really want to pay duties or taxes at this point of time
Question 2 - Should we list our car on the 'Items to Follow' list?
Question 3 - Can we be blunt and tell the Immigration official that we are only coming in for 2 weeks now or is there any need to be discreet
